'Red Dwarf XI' is coming to Dave in September, and here's the first picture of the fantastic foursome. Lister, Rimmer, the Cat and Kryten look as dapper as ever in the first publicity shot released by Dave.
The series is the first new 'Red Dwarf' since 2012's 'Red Dwarf X', which was also exclusive to Dave. This followed 'Red Dwarf: Back to Earth', a three-episode story that was Dave's first scripted comedy commission.
The show reunites the cast of Danny John-Jules, Chris Barrie, Craig Charles and Robert Llewellyn. It will also feature a host of guest stars, and will be recorded in front of a live studio audience at Pinewood Studios.
The six-episode series sees Rimmer accidentally save someone's life and achieve his life's dream by being promoted to captain. Cat falls in love with a female cat, while Lister wakes up to find a deranged droid has stolen some of his body parts. Mechanoid Kryten suffers a midlife crisis and considers leaving the gang for a younger crew.
It's written and directed by Doug Naylor, the show's original co-creator.
The sci-fi comedy launched on BBC2 back in 1988. At its peak, its eighth series – the last on the BBC – had viewing figures of more than 8 million. The show has also won International Emmy and British Comedy Awards.
'Red Dwarf XII' will follow on Dave in 2017.
