netflix everywhere

Is there no stopping Netflix? The streaming service has just added 3.2 million more customers in the last three months, it's announced. This exceeded the 2 million predicted by analysts.

The US accounted for 370,000 of those new subscribers. Netflix's quarterly revenues rose 31 per cent to $2.29 billion (£1.88 billion), leading its share price to rise 20 per cent.

Netflix currently operates in over 190 countries around the world. However, it's announced it won't operate in China anytime soon. Instead of launching there, it will license its shows to existing streaming services in the country.

Netflix's growth appeared to be stagnating, leading its shares to drop 13 per cent this year. But these recent results have reversed the trend.

It's also been the subject of a takeover rumour. Recent speculation claimed that Disney was eyeing up an acquisition, though Apple has also been rumoured to want to buy the streaming service.
