the expanse

Netflix is boldly going where no streaming service has gone before... Hang on, that's the wrong show. Anyway, it's acquired the worldwide rights to Syfy's space drama 'The Expanse'.

The 10-episode first series will come to Netflix on November 3rd. Series two is yet to air on Syfy, and will come to Netflix in 2017.

The series is based on the bestselling book series of the same name. Developed by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, it's set 200 years in the future, after mankind has colonised the solar system. It sees a hardened detective (played by Thomas Jane) team up with a rogue ship's captain (Steven Strait) to try and find a missing woman.

However, it soon becomes apparent there's far more at stake than just this young woman's fate.

It also stars Shohreh Aghdashloo, Dominique Tipper, Cas Anvar, Wes Chatham and Florence Faivre. Guest stars include Jonathan Banks, Paulo Costanzo and Jay Hernandez.
