Netflix has just released the first teaser trailer for 'Barry', its drama about US president Barack Obama.
Devon Terrell plays a young Obama – known to his friends as Barry – as he navigates his junior year at Columbia University in New York in 1981.
New York at that time was a crime-ridden, racially charged environment, with Obama being pulled between various social spheres. With all this going on, he struggles to maintain his strained relationships with his mother, his estranged father and his classmates.
It co-stars Ashley Judd ('Double Jeopardy'), Jenna Elfman ('Friends With Benefits'), 'Anya Taylor-Joy ('The Witch'), Jason Mitchell ('Straight Outta Compton') and Ellar Coltrane ('Boyhood').
It's not the first time Obama has been portrayed in fiction. He was previously played by Parker Swayers in the film 'Southside With You', which tells the story of Obama's first date with his now wife Michelle.
'Barry' will be available on Netflix from December 16th.
