stranger things series 2 tweet

'Stranger Things' season two is now in production. The Netflix original series will be one of the most hotly anticipated TV shows to hit the streaming service next year.

The official 'Stranger Things' Twitter account announced the news in an upside down tweet.

It also featured cast members performing a script read-through.

Netflix announced the second series at the end of August. But it subsequently emerged that the creators had been working on it for some time already.

According to trade mag Variety, the second series will comprise nine episodes, which is one more than the first.

All members of the original cast will return for series two. According to the teaser trailer, the action picks up in the autumn of 1984, one year after the events of the first series. It's also thought to explore the "bigger mythology" of Will's disappearance, which sounds intriguing.

The series creators previously released the names of the episodes for series two, but since claimed that some may change.
