Live football, a classic reggae concert and Gogglebox – everything you need to start the weekend.
'Live International Football: England v Scotland'
7:15pm, ITV This is a World Cup qualifier, so tensions will be running high at Wembley tonight. It's also the first competitive fixture between the two home nations since 1999's two-leg playoff that saw England deny Scotland a place at Euro 2000. Pundits Ally McCoist, Lee Dixon, Ian Wright and Ryan Giggs will be on hand to offer their tuppence worth, but if you want to forego the waffle, kick off is at 7:45pm.
9pm, Channel 4 What a winning formula: what has to be one of the cheapest television shows to make is also Channel 4's biggest ratings-winner. Ker-ching. It's also spawned a junior spinoff called 'Gogglesproggs' and a celebrity version for Stand Up to Cancer. This week's is sure to be a goodie, with topics including the US election. Can't wait for Sandra's take on that.
'Old Grey Whistle Test: Reggae Concert from the Edinburgh Festival'
9:15pm, BBC Four Join 'whispering' Bob Harris for a classic specially recorded concert from the 1973 Edinburgh Festival. Includes performances from reggae artists including the Cimarons, Winston Groovy, Dennis Alcapone, the Marvels, Nicky Thomas and the Pioneers. As part of the BBC's Black and British season.
