Two classic early 90s videogames are being adapted for film and TV. Sega Megadrive titles 'Altered Beast' and 'Streets of Rage' will be produced by 'Fear the Walking Dead' producer Circle of Confusion, alongside videogame publisher Stories International.
"We look forward to seeing the centurion from 'Altered Beast' rise from his grave, and the 'Streets of Rage' heroes Adam, Axel and Blaze fight to take their city back," Stories International CEO Tomoya Suzuki said in a statement.
Both games were side-scrolling beat 'em-ups. 'Altered Beast' saw your character transform from a man, into a more muscular man, then into a series of beasts to take on foes. 'Streets of Rage', meanwhile, was classic rogue-cop-against-crime-bigwig fare.
Sega is also looking for partners to help make the games 'Virtua Fighter', 'Crazy Taxi' and 'Shinobi' into TV programmes and films. Our eight-year-old self can't wait.
