It's January, the time of year when a lot of people try new diets in an attempt to shed the Christmas flab. Well here's a rather more macabre one: human flesh.
It's the one favoured by Drew Barrymore's character in the upcoming Netflix series 'Santa Clarita Diet'. The streaming service aired the first trailer for it on Sunday night during the Golden Globes.
The 30-second promo is based on those diet adverts that we see plenty of at this time of year.
"Everyone is asking me, how is it that I feel younger, more energetic, and sexier than I have in years," Barrymore says in the trailer. "It's the Santa Clarita Diet.
"I satisfy all my cravings, I eat whoever I want."
We then see Drew chow down on the dismembered remains of some poor soul.
So what is the show about? It's a comedy-horror series created by Victor Fresco. Timothy Olyphant stars as Barrymore's husband. The two real estate agents' lives take a dark turn when Sheila (Barrymore) dies.
All episodes will go live on February 3rd.
