If you're thinking of buying a new TV, and you watch a lot of Netflix, you might be best off getting one of the following.

These are the latest 'Netflix recommended' sets. Basically, that means Netflix approves of their usability, smart skills and internet connectivity, so if you fire up the streaming service on one, you should be in for a good experience.

As Netflix put it in a blog post recently: "At Netflix, we are continuously innovating to make sure using internet TV is as easy and great as possible. Improving the experience on the smart TVs our members watch Netflix on is a big part of this process, and with our Netflix Recommended TV program, we are able to shine a light on the TVs leading this wave.

"This year, a handful of devices have innovated further – offering better usability, faster performance, and new features that make getting to Netflix and other internet TV services as easy as getting to live TV."

The recommended sets are: 2017 LG 4K UHD TVs with WebOS 3.5, 2017 Samsung 7, 8, 9, and Q-series smart TVs, and 2017 Sony Android TVs

All of these were announced in January, and should be on sale in the coming weeks.

As with previous years, the criteria for evaluating these sets includes whether Netflix is easily accessible from anywhere in the TV menu (including having a dedicated Netflix button on the remote control), and whether they come with the latest version of Netflix.

This year, the sets also had to be able to be powered on and start up Netflix within a few seconds, to switch between apps or between apps and live TV almost instantly, and to show the Netflix interface in high resolution.
