Netflix is investing heavily in stand-up comedy specials, with new shows from big hitters Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock on the way. But it also has three shows from Dave Chappelle in the pipeline.

The first two arrive on 21st March. They're both from Chappelle's "personal vault" – one is a 2015 performance in Austin, Texas, and the other was recorded last March in Hollywood.

An all-new special will also arrive at some point later this year.

Chappelle was catapulted into the comedy limelight with 'Chappelle's Show', which ran from 2003 until 2005 on US network Comedy Central. (His segment involving Rick James was particularly well-received.) But since then he's been strangely absent from TV screens, apart from the odd stint hosting 'Saturday Night Live'.

Let's hope these mark a return to the screen for the star, whether it's via a streaming service or standard TV channel.
