The BBC has released the first trailer for the new series of 'Doctor Who'.

The 10th series of the rebooted long-running sci-fi show will be the last for current Doctor Peter Capaldi, and showrunner Steven Moffat. But it sees the introduction of a new assistant: Bill Potts, played by Pearl Mackie.

It will also see the welcome return of long-running villains the Daleks and the Cybermen. Plus Matt Lucas is back as Nardole, a friendly alien who'll accompany the Doctor and Bill in the Tardis.

The trailer shows – among other things – a robot who speaks emoji, space travel, and Bill comparing the inside of the Tardis to a kitchen.

It also provides our first glimpse of guest star David Suchet, who plays a character called The Landlord.

The 10th series starts on BBC One on 15th April. The two-part finale – which traditionally sees the Doctor regenerate into his new incarnation – will be written by Steven Moffat. As ever, speculation is rife as to who will play the Doctor next.
