Sky has added some new shows to its kids' line-up. The main one is 'Aliens Love Underpants And...', which is an adaptation of the award-winning children's books by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort.

The 12-part animated series is a Sky Original Production, so will be exclusive to the broadcaster and its Kids app. Each episode will be two minutes long, and star the pant-wearing aliens singing about cupcakes, spaceships, gobbledegook and more.

The show is aimed at kids aged three to six, with lyrics and dance moves provided for them to join in.

Also joining Sky's kids' selection is 'Miniteve', a series of educational short-form documentary-style videos exploring subjects as diverse as animals, vehicles and playtime. 'Big Block Singsong' is another animated musical short-form series, while 'Bear Behaving Badly' (from BAFTA-winning producer Darral Macqueen) features a man called Barney who lives with a badly behaved blue bear.

Tom Beattie, head of animation and kids at Tiger Aspect – the firm behind 'Aliens Love Underpants And...' was confident the show would be a hit with its audience.

"As a parent, I know how much kids love the fun silly songs that they repeat again and again (and again!)," he said in a statement. "We're looking forward to making our own, using the cast of brilliant and beloved aliens from the world that Claire and Ben have created. The catchy songs and get-up-and-dance routines will make these aliens pop stars for pre-schoolers and parents everywhere will be humming their songs!"

'Aliens Love Underpants And...' will be available later this summer, as will 'Bear Behaving Badly'. Both 'Big Block Singsong' and 'Miniteve' are available now.
