amazon fire tv 2017 models leak

It's that time of year: we have a new Apple TV, so a new Amazon Fire TV can't be far behind. But according to a new report, Amazon has two new streaming devices up its sleeve, and one will pack its AI helper Alexa.

According to a leaked image, the next Amazon Fire TV looks like a cube, and has Amazon's signature blue LED around the top, suggesting Alexa comes on board.

Alexa is available for the Amazon Fire TV using a special remote control, and for Amazon's Echo range of smart speakers. It lets you change channel, volume, and find something to watch, all just by speaking.

The next Fire TV is also expected to have a built-in speaker, so you can use it to play tunes when your TV is switched off.

The second Fire TV device is a dongle, much like the Amazon Fire TV Stick. Though its square design makes it look more similar to the Google Chromecast streaming dongle.

It reportedly has 2GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage and will be more expensive than the current Fire TV Stick.

Both devices are said to support 4K streams.

The holiday season is fast approaching, so we're expecting an Amazon event any day now. Expect to see its new Fire TV device(s) take centre stage.
