Idris Elba is coming to Sky in new comedy series 'In the Long Run'.
Loosely based on the actor's own childhood, the series follows the Easmon family in 1980s London.
Walter (Elba) and his wife Evelyn arrived from Sierra Leone 13 years ago, and are enjoying a quiet life when Walter's brother Valentine arrives on the scene and turns their world upside down.
Valentine's lust for life proves frustrating for Walter, but irresistible for his son Akuna, who loves his 'funcle'.
It's a comedy about family, community, and what home really means.
"I'm really happy to be in comedy, bringing some joy into a world that needs some laughs," said Elba. "With a great team behind it, I look forward to people seeing it."
Sky recently commissioned two other semi-autobiographical comedy shows: 'Sick of It' from Karl Pilkington, and 'The Reluctant Landlord' from Romesh Ranganathan.
