Sky is rolling out a software update for Sky Q, giving it enhanced voice control, among other powers.
This means you can change channel just by speaking – say "change channel to Sky Atlantic," say, and it will. You can also play whatever you like from your recordings just by saying so, and jump forward or back in the show ("skip back 30 seconds", or "watch from the start").
You can go to various sections of the Sky Q menu too, with phrases like "go to Sky Store" or "go to Sky Sports". And you can tweak your accessibility settings ("turn on audio description").
The latest update brings a bespoke Favourites menu to the TV Guide, too. This is where you put your favourite channels for easy access. It'll automatically list your most-watched channels, but you can edit it yourself, adding up to 99 of them in whatever order you like.
The Sky Q 2TB box (known as Sky Q Silver when it launched) will also get a dedicated Ultra HD section within My Q, where all the 4K content will be stored.
The update is rolling out in the coming weeks.
