The Moomins are coming to Sky. 'Moominvalley' is an original production by Sky, and will feature author Tove Jansson's much-loved characters, including Moomintroll, Snufkin, Little My and more.

The characters will be voiced by Bel Powley, Edvin Endre, Joe Wilkinson, Rosamund Pike, Kate Winslet, Aaron Egerton and Warwick Davis.

The series will follow Moomintroll and his family and friends as they go about their lives in Moominhouse and valley, an idyllic place untouched by the modern world.

Lucy Murphy, head of kids' content at Sky, said: "With their beguiling adventures, magical setting and a cast of fantastical creatures, Tove Jansson's beautiful books have been a well-deserved family favourite for decades and we can't wait to bring the joyous Moomin world to Sky families in this fabulous new series."

'Moominvalley' will be directed by Oscar-winner Steve Box ('Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit') and produced by Gutsy Animations.
