We finally have a broadcast date for Netflix's highly-anticipated 'The Punisher' series. The Marvel show – which centres on vigilante anti-hero Frank Castle, aka The Punisher – will hit the streaming service on 17th November.

Netflix also dropped a new trailer that details Castle's origins. Take a look.

We've seen the character on Netflix before – he's previously appeared in the Marvel series 'Daredevil'.

The 13-episode series will show Castle taking on a government conspiracy, all while dealing with the fallout from his family's death.

The trailer shows plenty of backstory. Castle is a soldier, and it seems him and his colleagues did something pretty bad while on duty. When back home, full of remorse, Castle is told he was unwittingly used as a hitman. Cue Castle going after his former employers in the government.
