French drama 'Black Spot' is coming to Amazon Prime Video. The streaming service has signed the rights to the show, which will be the first French TV show to be streamed globally by Amazon.
Called 'Zone Blanche' in its native France, 'Black Spot' is set in Villefranche, a small isolated town in the middle of a huge forest. It's here that Laurene Weiss, a local cop who was kidnapped 20 years ago, is investigating a crime that leads to details on her own abduction.
"With 'Black Spot', we offer audiences worldwide the chance to enjoy a truly great show from France," said Christoph Schneider, Amazon Video's director of content acquisition in Europe.
"International productions like this enrich the programming of Amazon Prime Video, make it more diverse and exciting for audiences globally."
Valerie Vleeschhouwer, VP in charge of Groupe AB's distribution and co-production, added: "We are thrilled to complete the sale of 'Black Spot' to Amazon Prime Video, which will give wide international exposure to this premium French production."
The show will come to Amazon in the UK next year. The deal gives Amazon the rights to the show outside Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
