Amazon has released a new wallet-friendly Fire TV Stick in over 100 countries around the world.

In Europe, the Fire TV Stick Basic Edition costs €60, or €40 for Prime subscribers.

Amazon recently launched Prime Video around the world (both with and without the regular Prime service). The new streaming stick allows people to watch without a computer or smartphone – just plug it into the back of your telly, and you're good to go.

"This makes streaming content from apps like Prime Video fast and easy," says Fire TV VP Mark Whitten.

Inside is a quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. The main difference between it and the standard Fire TV Stick is it lacks Alexa, Amazon's voice-activated personal assistant.

It also doesn't support 4K.

Prime Video without the Prime next-day delivery service is now available in 200 countries around the world, for $3 or €3 a month.

The Fire TV Stick Basic Edition is now on sale in Canada, France, Italy and Spain, among other countries. It's not available in the UK.
