netflix dark

German-language show 'Dark' will return to Netflix for a second series. The streaming service said that the series is "one of [its] most-watched entirely non-English shows."

'Dark' is a mystery with a unique twist – instead of working out who committed the crime, the main question is when did it happen.

It's set in a small German town that has some dark secrets buried in its past. When some local children go missing, these secrets are unearthed for all to see.

Though it's not the easiest of watches. By the end of series one, viewers are left keeping track of a huge cast that spans three generations, and work across three interconnected timelines. Which can be a bit of a head-scratcher at times.

Nevertheless, it's a fascinating watch, and an entirely original premise. Comparing it to its Netflix stablemate 'Stranger Things' doesn't really do it justice.

There's no word on when series two will air, but sometime in 2018 is a safe bet.
