'Community' star Joel McHale has bagged his own Netflix series. 'The Joel McHale Show Starring Joel McHale' is an unscripted pop-culture-centred talk show, which sounds just like his previous show 'The Soup', which aired on entertainment channel E!
It will also feature the same executive producer (K.P. Anderson) as 'The Soup'.
This is in keeping with Netflix's model. It has previously commissioned comedians and hosts to start shows very much in the mould of their previous successes. Like David Letterman and Chelsea Handler, for example.
It also ordered a new series of Jerry Seinfeld's 'Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee', which previously aired on Crackle. If it ain't broke...
Not that McHale's new show will be an exact replica of 'The Soup'. One new addition is Paul Feig, who worked on the US version of 'The Office' and directed the 'Ghostbusters' reboot as well as 'Bridesmaids'.
'The Joel McHale Show Starring Joel McHale' starts on 18th February, with a new episode dropping every week.
