Outlander is coming back to Amazon Prime Video. Series four will start on Monday 5th November, the day after it airs in the US. A new episode will air every week.

The series is about a doctor called Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) who travels back in time from the 20th century to the 18th century. It follows her and her husband Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) as they try to build a life for themselves in colonial-era America.

This series sees them in North Carolina on the brink of the American Revolution. The pair must negotiate a tenuous loyalty to the British ruling class, despite Claire’s knowledge of the bloody carnage that will ensue.

They’ll also cross paths with pirate and smuggler Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speelers).

The show is based on the New York Times bestseller series of novels by Diana Gabaldon. In total, the eight books have sold in excess of 28 million copies worldwide.
