panasonic fz952

The days are getting shorter, which means more time huddled up in front of the telly. Now a software update has just added support for two digital assistants to certain Panasonic TVs. Leaving the sofa is going to be harder than ever…

The update brings Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to Panasonic’s 2018 range of 4K smart TVs (that’s the FZ952 and F802 OLED models). You probably know Alexa and Google Assistant as the labour-saving digital skivvies that can control your smart home appliances, answer trivia questions, read the news and more, all when you bark the command. And now they can control these Panasonic TVs, too.

They can turn the TVs on and off, change the channel, and adjust the volume, too.

To enable the feature, you will need to update your TV software To do so, just make sure your TV is connected to the internet. As soon as you open any internet-connected app, a pop-up window will appear inviting you to download the software update. Do so, pair the telly with a compatible speaker through the Google Home or Alexa app, and you’re good to go.

Happy winter everyone.
