Virgin Media has unveiled its new ultra-modern TV service, Virgin TV 360 — a multi-device, multi-room interface designed to let you watch your favourite shows wherever you may be.
It comes with a whole host of upgrades to the renowned Virgin TV package, including a new voice-enabled remote for seamless voice search and additional mini-boxes to watch and record Ultra-HD content in other rooms in the house.
In a move to help you easily find content across all of your subscriptions and box sets, Virgin TV 360 also brings a number of improvements to its TV menus. It now shows streaming services, on-demand content and various music and video apps right alongside the usual cable channel options, and allows different members of your household to set up their own ‘profile’ with tailored watch lists and recommendations.
By setting up your own profile, you can pause what you’re watching on one screen and continue right where you left off on another just by signing back in and selecting it again. This can be done on another Virgin TV 360 box in the home or on a mobile device using the revamped Virgin TV Go app.
You won’t experience a drop in quality either — provided you’re watching on a compatible screen, the new Virgin interface allows you to watch in super crisp 4K Ultra HD on any device you wish, rather than just the main TV box.
If you missed the start of a live event or favourite show that you weren’t recording, Virgin TV 360 will still let you watch it in full, right there and then, thanks to its new ‘Startover’ option. Tied in with a range of catch-up TV options, this means you should always have a chance to enjoy something you couldn’t catch at the time, spoiler-free.
Chief TV & Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media, David Bouchier, said:
“Virgin TV 360 is our most impressive TV service to date, providing one of the most complete and comprehensive viewing experiences available in the UK. Backed up by our ultrafast broadband, our new service allows TV lovers to watch all of their favourite channels, apps and on-demand content in one place or on the move. This really is game-changing TV and we know our customers will love it.”
After its launch date, every new Virgin Media customer who chooses a broadband & TV bundle will automatically have Virgin TV 360. Existing customers can get it later this year at no extra cost if they have the Ultimate Oomph bundle, or if they upgrade to Ultimate Oomph once it’s launched.
Therefore, customers must also have Virgin Media broadband if they want to use Virgin TV 360. Compare Virgin Media broadband deals to find a bundle that works for you.
