PR Executive - London

Description

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the in-house PR team to provide day to day administrative and media relations support across all product sectors – Energy, Communications and Financial Services. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an exceptional PR team, which achieves the largest amount of coverage in its sector and punches above its weight in terms of influencing policy and decision-makers. You will gain working knowledge of media and their deadlines and will have the opportunity to plan campaigns and implement them.

What you will be doing:

  • Support PR team in responding quickly and accurately to press queries on a range of money saving matters across each sector
  • Manage media monitoring process, owing relationships with external providers and running a system that ensures that all coverage and backlinks are tracked efficiently and effectively
  • Monitor media for newsjacking opportunities and support PR team in meeting high backlink targets
  • Develop and maintain media contacts through press meetings and events, managing hospitality calendar of activity
  • Source case studies for media requests and ensure they are well briefed ahead of any interviews
  • Manage uSwitch.com media centre content as well as PR and spokespeople Twitter feeds. Regularly tweet releases and comments and engage with journalists online
  • Work with internal analysts in the different product teams to source statistics and trends to support releases and enquiries
  • Support PR Managers in the preparation of surveys, analysing results and identifying possible story angles
  • Draft press releases and reactive comments when required (training available)
  • Understand and provide feedback on industry developments and trends

Requirements

The things we look for in you:

  • Educated to minimum of degree level
  • Strong writing and analytical skills with an impeccable attention to detail
  • The ability to take on responsibility and welcome new challenges
  • A team player - flexible and committed with a strong desire to win
  • Excellent communication skills – able to communicate at all levels of the organisation and with the media
  • Must show innovation and initiative
  • Demonstrates good judgement, problem solving, planning and organisation and basic project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Deadline driven

Desirable skills:

  • One year’s work experience in PR, journalism or an analytical role

Additional skills:

  • Knowledge of either personal finance, telecommunications, energy or the price comparison market would be advantageous
