The role:

The Senior Editor works within the content team to shape and maintain entire product-verticals or domains. They do this by leveraging a network of content agencies and freelancers to create new content and keeping the pages they own up-to-date with the latest information.

Key responsibilities:

As Senior Editor you will be responsible for the content of an entire domain or significant portion of a large domain with multiple product verticals. You will own two distinct responsibilities as part of this: First, the briefing of new content. We leverage agencies and a growing freelance network to create a significant part of our new content. You will be responsible for managing this workflow from brief to content upload.

Second, you will ensure that the content on “your” part of the web-site remains up-to-date with the latest information. You will maintain and own the refresh plan for your content and edit the pages to ensure we always bring the latest insights to our audiences. As part of this you will use your market knowledge to ensure content is as up to date as possible work, and our pages are continually improving.

Third, you will have solid knowledge of the mortgage and car insurance verticals in particular, providing input and guidance to our PR and Outreach teams, as well as guiding the wider content strategy and team.


Requirements


  • You have at least 5 years editing experience, ideally on a website
  • You have a strong grasp of content strategy, and ways to engage visitors on the page
  • Within that, you will also have at least 3 years experience of commissioning and managing content from agencies or freelancers
  • You are able to edit and write copy accurately and clearly, understanding how to tailor content to different audiences
  • You have a solid understanding of on page SEO and how this should be reflected in the content
  • You are organised and able to juggle multiple work-streams simultaneously
  • You are data-driven and have experience in looking at the performance of your content, and taking appropriate actions to improve it
  • You are able to work with a range of internal stakeholders
  • You have experience in financial services, ideally mortgages and car insurance.
