Switch phone supplier
The Post Office has today launched an attempt to re-establish itself in the UK's home telephone market.
The UK’s phone network used to be completely run by the General Post Office until 1981, when BT was created as a separate entity to run the UK’s telephone services.
The Post Office’s HomePhone tariff combines low call rates with no hidden charges, and is also one of the first companies to offer customers a single bill for line rental and calls.
With the new Wholesale Line Rental product, customers no longer have to pay a separate bill to BT for their line rental, and more suppliers are likely to be offering these services in the coming months.
