BT Mobile has confirmed that its users will be able to take advantage of 4G and Wi–Fi calling from later this week.
The move brings the network into line with major players Three, O2, Vodafone and EE, which already allow calls to be made over Wi–Fi and using the 4G spectrum.
Wi–Fi calling is ideal for those unable to get decent coverage indoors, with BT’s phones hooking up to any network automatically if its details have already been added to the device in question.
4G calling should also mean greater coverage for BT Mobile customers, as well as improved call quality.
The service goes live on 29th March and will be available to all new and existing customers on the network with a supported phone. BT has yet to reveal which handsets will work with the service, but expect top–end models from Apple and Samsung to play nice.
