Mobile broadband appealing to shoppers
Posted 29th August 2008 at 4:00pm by Alex Buttle
Shoppers looking to get the best deals on quality products are using mobile broadband on the move, according to new research.
BT has highlighted the trend of Brits at the shops comparing prices and looking up product reviews while at the shops.
Handheld devices which employ broadband, such the Broadband Anywhere BT ToGo smartphone, are giving shoppers access to information at their fingertips, a luxury which is becoming more and more apparent.
Research from the telecoms giant found that 45 per cent of those quizzed have browsed for goods or services, while one in three have price checked or searched for a review of a product or service.
"Broadband on the move is bringing about a change in consumer behaviour," commented BT Futurologist Ian Neild.
He concluded: "Consumers can now do the things they would normally do at home when they are out and about."
