Mobile broadband laptop deals going upmarket?
Posted 15th April 2009 at 2:21pm by Jonathan Leggett
Mobile broadband’s journey to supplanting fixed line broadband as the dominant internet technology in the UK received another fillip today with the news that 3 has broadened the appeal of its deals with some new laptops.
3 has added the Toshiba L350-20G, the Fujitsu Siemens Li3710 and the ACER 693G-583 to its range of offers. The ACER in particular is a fine laptop that would be a good fit for anyone looking for a high-performance machine. And the other devices are pretty good, too.
The launch of 3’s new broadband laptop deals comes amid rumours now circulating that rival provider Orange is poised to offer Apple MacBooks with mobile broadband packages. This, coupled with 3’s decision to launch deals with higher-end laptops, suggests that 2009 will be the year when mobile broadband deals go upmarket.
