Uswitch comments on latest Ofcom telecoms complaints data

Commenting on the latest telecoms customer complaints data from Ofcom, Ewan Taylor Gibson, telecoms expert at Uswitch.com says: “Ofcom’s complaints data will no doubt resonate with customers of those companies flagged as the worst offenders.

“Such a notable increase in complaints across home phone and broadband in particular just isn’t acceptable, when millions of people rely on these essential services daily.

“While EE and Plusnet are currently the worst offenders for home phone and broadband complaints, the latest data doesn’t include the recent TalkTalk hack. So we could even see customer satisfaction impacted further in next quarter’s results.

“Vodafone is going backwards, as rising numbers of unhappy customers mean its falling well behind other mobile operators, with complaints levels well above the industry average. Vodafone has blamed this on migrating billing systems. If that’s the case then the next quarter’s results should tell a different story.

“If you are unhappy with your broadband provider or mobile network and they don’t resolve your complaint internally, there are still options. People have a right to contact one of two free-to-use independent resolution schemes to get things sorted.”
