Good Energy to freeze prices this winter

Commenting on news that independent energy supplier Good Energy is to freeze its gas and electricity price this winter, Claire Osborne, energy expert at Uswitch.com, says: “This is a bold move by Good Energy at a time when many deals, especially from independent providers, are increasing in cost due to rising wholesale prices.

“However, Good Energy’s green dual fuel energy tariff – frozen at £1,070 – remains £240 more expensive than the cheapest green plan on the market from rival Octopus Energy, so customers should shop around.

“Although many suppliers are increasing the cost of their cheapest deals as we head into winter, there are still many competitive tariffs on offer – for now at least. Customers worried about the prospect of price rises this winter should also consider moving to a fixed rate tariff.”
