Uswitch comments on Ofgem proposals to help vulnerable consumers and speed up switching

Commenting on Ofgem’s proposals to support vulnerable households and encourage greater competition in the retail energy market for the benefit of customers, Richard Neudegg, Head of Regulation at Uswitch.com said:

“It’s absolutely right that Ofgem is proposing targeted help for the most vulnerable households to ensure that those most in need do not get left behind. We want to see practical proposals to help vulnerable customers as soon as possible.

“Our mission at Uswitch is to help consumers bring down their bills and we welcome the proposals to encourage more customers to switch away from expensive standard variable tariffs as this will encourage even greater competition in the energy market, making suppliers up their game on pricing and service, and allowing more consumers to benefit from cheaper deals.”
