Vodafone tops telecoms complaints for the first time

Following Ofcom’s most recent complaints figures being released Ernest Doku, telecoms expert at Uswitch.com, says: “With telecoms customers prepared to vote with their feet when they don’t believe their providers are up to scratch, these complaints tables will be a cause for concern for companies in this ultra-competitive environment.

“Vodafone will especially be feeling the heat here as, for the first time, the provider has topped the table for receiving the highest number of complaints for its broadband and landline services. However, this is the first time the provider has had enough customers – proportionally – to justify its inclusion in these figures.

“While TalkTalk continues to attract relatively high levels of dissatisfaction from its customers, it’s no longer the most complained about provider.

“Pay TV complaints jumped significantly in the last quarter for both Virgin Media and BT attracting more than double the level of criticism than three months ago.

“On the mobiles side, Virgin Media has also received the highest number of complaints for the third quarter in a row.

“It’s worth pointing out that if you are dissatisfied with the service you’re paying for, it’s easy to take advantage of the wide array of options to move to a service that better suits your needs.

“Importantly, you should not be reluctant to complain to your provider. If you have a problem or aren’t happy with the service you are paying for, let them know. If you remain dissatisfied don’t forget you can take your complaint to the ombudsman services, who will review your case free of charge.”
