No reason to take TalkTalk broadband price hike lying down

Commenting on TalkTalk’s decision to increase broadband prices from 1 June for customers who have fallen out of contract, Dani Warner, broadband expert at Uswitch.com says:

“The news that TalkTalk is set to increase prices for those who have fallen out of contract could not have come at a worse time, given the broadband provider was found to have the least happy customers on its books earlier this week.

“However, there really is no reason to take this lying down. If you receive a letter or email from TalkTalk informing you that your monthly bill is going up, you are definitely out of contract and can walk away without paying any penalty. For regular broadband customers, there could be even better news as you could take out a new contract for a considerably faster service – such as superfast broadband – AND still pay less than you are currently paying.

“If you decide to take your custom elsewhere, it is definitely worth considering what services and content you actually need or want. Cheapest isn’t necessarily best, and if you are an avid streamer or love a boxset binge, some providers will offer free subscriptions to the likes of NowTV or Amazon Prime as part of their offer, so it really is worth shopping around.”
