‘Consumers deserve to know what they’re getting’ – Uswitch.com comment on Ofcom measures giving consumers better broadband information
Richard Neudegg, head of regulation at Uswitch.com, says: “Consumers deserve to be able to easily compare the actual broadband speeds that can be delivered before they sign up to a new broadband provider. Anything that improves the accuracy of estimates is welcome.
“But it’s not enough for these estimates to be deep within providers’ own checkers, consumers need to be able to compare what’s available side-by-side.”
“Uswitch is already working with providers including Virgin Media, TalkTalk and Hyperoptic to let consumers check exactly what speeds and services are available at their specific address.
“We’ll shortly be rolling out our new tool, which could potentially revolutionise how consumers shop for their broadband online.
“We want all broadband providers, especially those offering ultrafast speeds, to work with us to help consumers compare services, and let them find the broadband connection they deserve.”
