Uswitch comments on Ofcom's update that broadband speeds are rising
Catherine Hiley, broadband expert at Uswitch.com, comments: “Thanks to the ever-increasing availability of faster broadband packages around the country, many consumers were able to switch to faster speeds when they found theirs was not up to scratch during lockdown.
“The research shows that the digital divide between rural and urban areas is also narrowing, with more than half of rural households now able to access superfast speeds of over 30Mbit/s.
“Many households are still on ADSL connections and enduring slow speeds unnecessarily, unaware that they could upgrade to fibre broadband and save themselves money.
“Anyone who is still battling with slow broadband should take a speed test to find out how reliable the connection really is. If you’re not happy with the results, do a comparison online and see if you can get a better deal and a faster service.”
