What area does Anglian Water supply?
Anglian Water supplies water and sewerage services to the largest geographical area of all the water companies in England & Wales, serving East Anglia and East Midlands, from the River Humber to the River Thames. This region is also the driest in Britain with approximately 600mm of rain a year.

Anglian Water supplies over one billion litres of water a day through its network of 36,000km of water mains and operates 1,077 sewage treatment works.

To be classed as wholesome, water must comply with the water quality standards set out in the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 1989.
In 2003, 235,570 tests were carried out on samples taken by Anglian Water. 99.70% of these tests complied with the Regulations (source: www.dwi.gov.uk).

Anglian Water performance standards
In Ofwat's report "Levels of service for the water industry in England and Wales 2003-2004" Anglian Water came first in the overall service performance league table of all water and sewerage companies in England and Wales. This is the second time in five years that Anglian Water has topped the league.
Anglian Water was also found to have the lowest leakage rate in the UK and was praised for the quality of its drinking water. Other findings included that 99.65% of Anglian Water billing queries were answered within five days and that Anglian Water has one of the lowest rates of wastewater pollution incidents.
Anglian Water – “Codes of Practice”
Anglian Water's “Codes of Practice" and "Domestic Customer Charter" entitles customers to £20 in the event of the following:
- your water supply is not restored in time following planned work by Anglian Water
- Anglian Water fails to respond to sewage flooding within four hours of being notified
- Anglian Water fails to give you 24 hours' notice if they have to rearrange an appointment to visit you
- Anglian Water fails to respond to a written query about your bill within 10 working days
