Download the app and connect your smart meter
The Uswitch app is free to download on the App Store and Google Play. You can connect your smart meter to it in less than two minutes.
Sign up to the Power Hours scheme
Power Hours is our free energy earning scheme. To be eligible for the early May bank holiday offer, you need to sign up to it by 29 April.

We'll then ask you to confirm your electricity plan and then choose if you want your free eight hours of electricity on 2, 3 or 4 May.

What is the free electricity for the early May bank holiday offer?
Put an extra spring in your step this early May bank holiday, with free electricity via the Uswitch app.
We’ll pay you back for the electricity you use between 8am and 4pm on either Saturday, Sunday or Monday of the bank holiday weekend (2-4 May 2026), up to £10 per household.
This exclusive offer is part of our Power Hours scheme, where you can earn with your smart meter year-round.
To get this offer, all you have to do is connect your smart meter and sign up to Power Hours with the Uswitch app by 29 April. Existing smart meter-connected Uswitch app customers can simply look out for the offer within the app and activate by 29 April to take part, pending our 25,000 spots for existing customers don't run out.
It's just one of the ways we're looking to put more cash back into your pocket.
How do you calculate my earnings?
We use the kWh usage data from your smart meter to calculate how much you’ve used during 8am to 4pm on your selected day over the early May bank holiday. Then pair that with the unit rates from your electricity plan to calculate your earnings (up to £10). If your electricity plan isn't listed, we will use your supplier's SVT rates instead.
Not all smart meters update plan names when you switch supplier or change energy plans. Make sure the right plan details are shown on the app to get accurate earnings.
We’ll add any calculated earnings to your total, ready to withdraw from the Uswitch app.
When will I be able to withdraw my earnings from this offer?
Earnings will be calculated in the weeks following the early May bank holiday. Those earnings will be made available once they've been calculated in May, to then be withdrawn in the Earn tab in the Uswitch app
Do I still have to pay my energy bill?
Yes, this offer won't change your supplier's energy bill. Instead, think of it as a refund from Uswitch for the electricity you used. You'll earn cash in our app that you can withdraw to your bank account, which means you will still have to pay your supplier for the electricity used during your chosen times.

Put cash back in your pocket
We'll calculate your usage between 8am to 4pm on your selected day from your smart meter and add a maximum of £10 to your earnings in our app. You'll still have to pay your supplier for the electricity used during this period, but you'll earn that money back to withdraw directly to your bank in May.

Anyone can take part in this offer as long as they've connected their electricity smart meter to the Uswitch app and signed up to this offer by 29 April.
