Unhappy telecoms customers can vote with their feet

Following official telecoms complaints data from Ofcom, Ernest Doku, telecoms expert at Uswitch.com, says: “Unhappy customers are often more likely to vote with their feet, especially in this ultra-competitive environment. Telecoms providers are acutely aware of this and should be trying to improve things for consumers. With such a wide variety of options in a competitive market place, customers can easily find a service that better suits their needs.

“Likewise, you should not be reluctant to complain to your provider – if you have a problem or aren’t happy with the service you are paying for, you need to let them know, and failing that there are free ombudsman services that can review your case.

“Once again Sky generated the fewest Ofcom complaints across broadband, landline and pay TV, continuing their strong performance in the previous two quarters.

“On the other hand, TalkTalk dominated standings on the most complaints for broadband and landlines with faults, service and provision issues all cited. It’s worth mentioning that BT and Plusnet weren’t far behind.

“When it comes to mobiles, Tesco Mobile will be raising a glass, with the fewest Ofcom complaints. Virgin Mobile will be in reflective mood with the most, billing, charges and complaints handling amongst the issues driving concerns, though iD Mobile, Vodafone and BT were hot on their heels.”
