1) Check you’re eligible to switch from Sky Mobile
Assuming you’re out of contract, you’re free to switch from Sky Mobile any time you like and it won’t cost you anything.
Not sure if you’re still under contract? You can find out by contacting Sky Mobile's customer support team on 03300 412 524 from your Sky Mobile phone. Or on 03300 412 524 from any other phone (standard network charges apply).
The support team’s working hours are 8.30am-11pm every day.
If you’d prefer not to call, you can also find out your contract end date by logging in to your Sky Mobile account, or by opening up the Sky Mobile app on your phone.
2) Contact Sky Mobile to tell them you want to leave and get your PAC Code
Next item on the agenda is to get in touch with Sky Mobile to tell them you’d like to leave. Contact numbers are outlined in step one.
While you’re on the line, be sure to ask for a PAC Code. This is a short sequence of numbers and letters that will enable you to transfer your current phone number to the network you’re joining.
It’s a legal requirement that networks provide you with your PAC Code within two hours of your request.
Once you’ve got your PAC Code, you’ll have 30 days to use. Thereafter it expires. So if you haven’t used it within this timeframe, you’ll need to contact Sky Mobile to get a new one.
3) Find and buy a SIM-only deal from Plusnet Mobile
Free as a bird? Or got an impending date when you’ll be ready to leave? Great. Now you need to select a SIM only deal from Plusnet Mobile and sign up through uSwitch.
Once you’ve passed Plusnet Mobile’s credit checks, you’ll receive your SIM in the post.
4) Contact Plusnet Mobile to give them your PAC Code
Your only real job now is to get in touch with Plusnet Mobile and give them your PAC code.

5) Unbox and insert your Plusnet Mobile SIM
Got your phone to hand? Okay, open up the SIM tray using a pin and insert your Plusnet Mobile SIM card.
Your number won’t be transferred straightaway. But you’ll be given a temporary number to use while the number transfer is taking place. So you can still use your phone.
6) Wait for your number to be transferred to Plusnet Mobile
Plusnet aims to complete number transfers the next working day. However, that may depend on the time of day you make your transfer request.
The earlier you make your request, the more likely it is to happen the next day.
