The much anticipated BlackBerry Curve 8900 has finally hit the UK and is expected to be available four days before Christmas.
At 13.55mm, the phone is the thinnest yet developed by Research in Motion (RIM) and is equipped with a Qwerty keyboard and 256MB of memory plus a slot for MicroSD Flash cards.
There is also a larger and clearer 480 × 360 display, a 512MHz processor, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus.
Styling of the handset is more in keeping with the BlackBerry Bold range and also borrows a user interface that was featured on the Bold handsets.
Networks and retailers which will be offering the phone for sale include O2, T-Mobile and Carphone Warehouse.
Mark Guibert, vice president of corporate marketing at Research In Motion, said: “The BlackBerry Curve 8900 lets you keep your finger on the pulse of what's important to you.
“You can stay connected with the office, the internet, your family and friends - all on a beautifully designed phone that looks and feels great.”
