Details of the highly touted BlackBerry 9600 Onyx business-focused smartphone have leaked online.
The new device from Research in Motion (RIM) is equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera and a new keypad as well as Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G support.
According to reports, the Onyx will arrive on T-Mobile’s US network in September and is expected to be available in the UK around two months later.
Other handset launches planned by RIM this year, include a new edition of the BlackBerry 9500 Storm, dubbed the BlackBerry Storm 2.
News of the company’s release schedule comes as sustained demand for BlackBerry handsets is continuing to help RIM buck the economic downturn.
A study conducted by NPD Group found that the Curve series of BlackBerries were the top-selling smartphones in the US during the first three months of this year.
The strong performance was driven by a buy-one-get-one-free campaign on BlackBerry phones that was run by US network AT&T.
