The BlackBerry Curve 8900 is to be available on Orange on a pay as you go deal, as Research in Motion’s (RIM) high-end, e-mail-focused handsets continue to become increasingly accessible to the mass market.
Under the terms of Orange’s offer, buyers will pay £250 for the handset and will get six months free e-mail and web access when the phone is purchased before June 30th.
After this period expires, customers can opt to continue taking this service for a monthly charge of £5.
The Curve 8900 is the second BlackBerry phone to be offered on pay as you go by Orange, after the Pearl 8120 was made available for £145 earlier this year.
Orange director of prepay Pippa Dunn said: "We were the first to launch the BlackBerry Pearl on pay as you go in the UK and we’re delighted to extend our range to include the BlackBerry Curve 8900.
"With free email and web browsing for six months and at a great price, we’re offering customers even better value."
As well as push e-mail, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 features a 3.2 megapixel camera, a full Qwerty keyboard, built-in GPS, Wi-Fi and a 2.4-inch screen.
