The latest version of Facebook is now available to download for BlackBerry owners, offering a host of new features.
Improvements to the application for Research in Motion (RIM) handsets include the opportunity to view your friends status updates, as well as easier access to photo uploads and wall posts.
The upgrade, which is dubbed Facebook 1.6 and can be downloaded from www.blackberry.com/facebook, has also seen the introduction of a slideshow for viewing photograph.
Finally, three new languages are now supported, namely Thai, Indonesian and European Portuguese.
Latterly, BlackBerry mobile phones have extended their appeal beyond their core market of business users.
This has been helped in part by the availability of BlackBerries on cheaper monthly contract deals as well as on pay as you go plans.
Earlier this month, Orange began offering the BlackBerry Curve 8900 to pre-pay customers for £250. The UK carrier also sells a pre-pay Pearl 8120 for £145.
In addition to push e-mail, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 features a 3.2 megapixel camera, a full Qwerty keyboard, built-in GPS, Wi-Fi and a 2.4-inch screen.
