The Twitter app for BlackBerry phones has been upgraded today, bringing its feature set and design in line with the micro-blogging application’s Android and iOS iterations.
The revamp brings a simpler and easier to locate button for composing your mini messages on a rejigged navigation bar and a streamlined Twitter search with Find People, Search, and Popular Topics now all on a single screen. This also will also feature Trends and Saved Searches.
Owners of BlackBerrys running OS6 or above, meanwhile, will also benefit from Twitter results being included in their handsets’ universal search function.
Other than that, the differences are largely cosmetic. But we’re keen on the new look’s muted and much more sophisticated colour palette, so the changes are very definitely welcome.
Twitter 2.0 is free to download and is available now from Research in Motion’s official application store BlackBerry App World.
