O2 has become the third UK carrier to confirm it will be offering the BlackBerry Curve 9360 when the latest addition to Research in Motion’s (RIM) mid-tier range drops next month.
The network revealed it is joining Vodafone and Three in carrying the handset via a post on its official Twitter feed. Right now, there’s nary a sign of it on O2’s ‘coming soon’ page or any hint of a pre-sale. But, given that the phone is landing in September, we’re sure that’ll happen soon enough.
Unveiled today, the Curve 9360 marks the first time that RIM has brought its all-new BlackBerry 7 operating system to a mid-range phone.
The refreshed platform offers up to 40 per cent faster web browsing than phones powered by the previous OS6 version, plus improved social networking smarts and slicker graphics.
The handset also rocks Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to allow owners to contactless payments by swiping it over a reader, a 2.5-inch screen, a physical QWERTY keyboard and a five megapixel camera.
