O2 has cut the asking price for the BlackBerry Torch 9800, in the network’s latest be-quick-or-be-dead promotion.
Under the terms of the so-called flash sale, customers who buy the Torch online before Monday August 29th will get the phone free on a £16.50 per month contract.
That includes 50 call minutes, 500Mb of data and 250 texts per month. And, of course, you get unfettered access to the BlackBerry Messenger instant messaging service too.
The first-ever Torch is a touch and type handset that teams BlackBerry messaging smarts with a touchscreen, thanks to a slider form factor that allows room enough for a 3.2-inch TFT display and a full physical, QWERTY keyboard.
It’s also home to a five-megapixel camera with image stabilisation and autofocus, an optical trackpad for navigation, 4GB of interntal storage and microSD card support to allow you to boost capacity by up to 32GB.
And in keeping with all BlackBerrys, you get BlackBerry Maps pre-installed and to keep everything ticking over smoothly, it’s also got a 624Mhz processor on board too.
