Phones4U is offering the handset on a range of contracts. Perhaps the pick, though, is O2’s contract at £21.50 per month over two years. This includes 200 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data per month, with no upfront free for the handset.

Mobiles.co.uk is also touting deals with a selection of major networks. But if we were in the market for the Curve 9360, we’d probably plump for the £20.50 per month Vodafone contract. Also over two years, Voda’s package takes in 100 minutes, 500 texts and 250MB of mobile web usage per month.

Unveiled a matter of weeks ago, the latest addition to the Curve range is the first in the series to be powered by BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion’s (RIM) BlackBerry 7 operating system.

According to RIM, the revamped platform makes the Curve capable of 40 per cent faster web browsing than phones powered by the previous OS 6 version. It also adds improved social networking smarts and slicker graphics.

Elsewhere, the Curve packs a 2.5-inch screen, a none-more-RIM physical QWERTY keyboard, a five-megapixel camera and unfettered use of the enhanced BlackBerry Messenger instant messaging service.
