Sony’s upcoming ST25i smartphone could launch as the Xperia U, it has been revealed, after a certification filing for the handset was spotted in Indonesia.
Codenamed ‘Kumquat’, the as-yet unannounced phone is expected to land alongside the all-but-official LT26i - aka Xperia S - at next month’s Mobile World Congress.
Standout specs mooted to be on board include 1GHz dual core processor, an iPhone-esque 3.5-inch screen, a five-megapixel rear snapper, front-facing cam and 8GB of internal storage.
Also likely to feature is the latest Ice Cream Sandwich release of Android out of the box.
Unfortunately that’s about all the gen we have on the phone. If the stars align, we could finally see it unveiled in flesh when Sony takes the stage in Barcelona.
Keep ‘em peeled for our full coverage of announcements to come.
